Dr. Sierra Peters is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology and the F. Elaine Donelson Chair of Psychology and Religion at Rhodes College. She received her B.A. in Psychology from St. Norbert College in 2019, her M.S. in Psychology from Florida State University in 2021, and her Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Florida State University in 2025.
Dr. Peters teaches courses such as Social Psychology, the Psychology of Intimate Relationships, the Psychology of Gender & Sexuality, and Research Methods in Psychology.
In her Dynamics of Evolved Sexual and Intimate Relationship Experiences (DESIRE) Lab, Dr. Peters integrates evolutionary and social psychological perspectives to explore how long-term romantic relationships begin, develop, and sometimes dissolve.
